Tourist attraction in Ooty: Treasure trove natural beauty

Ooty is one of the picturesque hill stations situated in the Nilgiri district of Tamil Nadu. Furthermore, it is the treasure trove of breathtaking natural beauty. Millions of tourist from all over the world come and explore this great destination of India every year. There are numerous attractions are available to visit such as: 

Botanical Garden: It was first built in 1847. This beautiful garden is sprawled over 55 acres land and this garden is filled with lush green lawns and a  wide variety of flowering plants, orchids, ferns, some rare species of trees, an Italian-style garden and a 20 million year old fossilized tree which bordering a clear pool.

Lake: Ooty offers countless option of lakes like Ooty Lake. This lake offers boating in various kinds of boats and a pony rides for children around it. However, the children can also enjoy park with a Toy Train, Mini Garden and Deer Park here.

Doddabetta Peak: It is ying at an altitude of 2,623 meters; and is about 10 kms from Ooty. Many of the national and international tourists come here to visit it. It is one the highest peaks in Nilgiri hills.

Pykara Falls: It is located about 19 km far from Ooty, However, this picturesque Pykara Falls and its surroundings constitute with some of the breathtaking scenery along with the lush green valleys which is a lovely getaway from Ooty.

Hindustan Photo Film: This is the most well-known industrial unit, lying about 5 km from Ooty Railway Station. A wide range of chemicals and films are used in film processing are produced here.

Art Gallery: It is 2 km from Ooty and this gallery has a rich items of tribal objects, collections of contemporary paintings, district’s ecological details and representative sculptural arts and crafts of Tamil Nadu.

Cosmic Ray Laboratory: It is located in the Mutholai village of the Nilgiri. Furthermore, this research center conducts studies on cosmic rays coming from outside the earth’s atmosphere. This center is particularly significant for its contribution to scientific developments.

Radio Telescope: It is the center of radio astronomy near Ooty. Well, this telescope is about 30 m wide and 530 m long.

Tribal Research Center: It is situated about 10 km from Ooty Bus Stand and this center was established for studies on tribal communities of the state.
